A Fisheye Day in the Studio

On the last official day of production on the new Fulldome film We Are Astronomers we decided to do a fisheye time lapse in the NSC Creative animation studio to capture and share the moment!

Normally we are pretty still, staring at our monitors, pushing pixels around but this day was surprisingly active.

Meet the 2.0’s

You will have seen the flat chaps hanging around the blog and in the first trailer but now it’s time to say hello to the “2.0’s”

These little peeps represent the voice of the people in We Are Astronomers and share their thoughts on what they think an astronomer is and does. They get their name from the term “Web 2.0” and encapsulate modern day thinking and working in the digital age continuing the quest for greater understanding of our Universe in the footsteps of Galileo.

What’s more important is how cute they are, stop reading and watch the video!

Now make sure you go see the film in a Dome near you to see them in action!

* WORLD PREMIERE * tonight @National Space Centre

It’s been a roller coaster journey but it is now time to put the mice down and let the audience decide what they think of We Are Astronomers!!!

Tonight at the National Space Centre, Leicester, UK we will all be packed into the dome for the official launch of the new 360′ Fulldome Film.

We are going to attempt to tweet the event via Twitter between glasses of champagne orange juice and canapes plus we will have a live twitter feed projected on a screen during the premiere which will display anyone who replies to @WeAreAstronomer

The event is ticket only so please don’t turn up on the night but please do logon to Twitter and get involved. Watch the trailer or check out the images and give us your thoughts!

We will upload loads of images and video tomorrow to share what is hopefully a successful launch with everyone.

Don’t forget, the film opens to everyone this weekend but please check with your local dome first for show times.
